Dr. Farhat is a Pediatric Urologist with The Hospital for Sick Children, University of Toronto since 2001. Clinically he has a particular interest in minimal invasive surgery; including laparoscopic, single port and endourologic procedures in children. Dr. Farhat also has a vested interest in education, and is actively involved in the organization of several laparoscopic courses that are taught on both national and international levels, including the Pediatric Urology Laparoscopy Course (www.sickkids.ca/lap) and the Laparoscopy Course at the annual Canadian Urological Association Meeting. In 2009 he was appointed as the Surgeon-in-Chief of Education for Perioperative Services at The Hospital for Sick Children, during this time he has been actively involved in different educational committees, and has taken on the Lead in Surgical Simulation for the Sickkids Simulation Steering Committee. Dr. Farhat also has a particular interest in urinary bladder tissue engineering. He closely investigates the developmental milestones of urinary bladder in an attempt to design surgical options for children who are born with or develop bladder diseases.
